The Kensington Hilltop School PTA and Dads Club will host the schools 59th Annual Spring Carnival on Saturday, May 13th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. We are very excited about our first Carnival at the newly renovated school grounds, and the new school will provide a great backdrop to this tremendous fund-raising event to support educational programs at Hilltop.
The first Hilltop Spring Carnival was held in May of 1947, and raised $969.05 to fund Dads Club and PTA activities. This included $38.40 from the Rat Race, $3.00 from Character Analysis and $62.25 from Needlework. Its still a great event for the community, and one that helps our parent organizations support the school." As in recent years, the 2006 Carnival will include a wide range of games for kids of all ages, a great selection of prizes, superb lunch offerings from the Dads Club grill, tempting treats from the bake sale and a visit from the Kensington Police and Fire Departments. Prizes and food have been underwritten by Ruth Frassetto and The Grubb Company. As has been the case for the previous 22 years, a beautiful quilt designed and crafted by Kensington parents will be raffled off that afternoon. Prudential Realtors of El Cerrito donated the raffle tickets, which are available from Hilltop students. Prizes will be given to the students who sell the most. Tickets are $1 each or $10 for a book of 12. For questions about the quilt or to purchase tickets, contact Amy Kurzer-Ogul at 524-6314. Each classroom will be asked to staff a game, ticket or food booth during the Carnival, so parents should mark their calendars and contact their classrooms Room Parent to signup. For Carnival details, please contact Alison Roberts (PTA) alisonroberts@ aol.com or Walt Gill (Dads Club) wwgill335@ comcast.net. |

The Dads Club has been part of the Kensington Hilltop School for 59 years. The main objective of the Dads Club is to enrich our children's educational experience by sponsoring and promoting extracurricular activities. Traditionally this has been accomplished by co-sponsoring the Spring Carnival and sponsoring the Fall and Spring events. We provide support to the Kensington Hilltop staff, in the form of work parties to help enhance our classroom and campus environment. The Dads Club also supports the other service organizations fund-raising efforts, such as the Garden Party. In fact, the men and women in the Dads Club contribute an estimated 700 hours annually to help make our school better for our children. Click to visit the Dads Club web page
