After they split us all into the two different schools, Kensington & Madera we had a baseball game at Kensington to see who was the best. We (Madera) won. All I remember was it was a close game but don't remember the score. I am the one directly behind the sign. Will be 60 yrs old in March Raymond Lynch

The picture above was the Madera School team 1956.

I went to Kensington School from 1951 to 1956. This is a picture of a Traffic Patrol Competition between several elementary schools at the field across from Portola School during 1956. I don't remember who won though.

I also have class pictures for years 1951 to 1956 at which time a lot of us who were in the sixth grade at the time were transferred to the new school Madera. Kindergarten and 1st through 3rd grade were at the top of the hill then 4th through 6th were held down the lower part of the hill. The lower part was once a 3 level brick building which was torn down and temporary classrooms were brought in by truck and placed at that location. They were used class rooms from another school. Even though they were temporary they remained for many years. The class pictures were Mrs. Olson - May 1951, Miss Auble - April 1952, Miss Schroeder - May 1953, Miss Archibald - fall 1953, Miss Chisholm - fall 1954, & Miss Lincoln - Spring 1956 then we went to Madera school.
